Assange shouldn't go to prison because no one should. Him being extradited and sent to prison will be bad for journalists.
Deifying him and holding up his work as honest investigative journalism is, however, bullshit. He is a hack propagandist, a rapist, and certainly not a leftist nor someone anarchists should celebrate.

@hakan_geijer like it will be a terrible precedent for leakers if this extradition goes through! I totally agree! I also feel uncomfortable going to protests around the issue because the organizers expect me to think an antisemitic rapist is a saint!

For me this is one of the applications of "no gods no masters".
So often the person who does a good deed is elevated above the deed itself.
After the cult of personality falls then the damage is that the good deeds might fall with it.
If you "no gods no masters" ahead of time then this won't happen.
I didn't know about Assange being a bad actor, but I already separated the artist from the artist, and I already don't want anybody in jail.
