After Oklahoma law mandated that students used the bathrooms that matched ""sex assigned at birth"", a non-binary trans student is dead after being brutally beaten alongside another trans student in a bathroom by their peers. The student, Nex, was knocked on the floor and hit their head, sustaining head trauma.

Instead of calling 911, the school called their mother to come get them. If you know how head trauma is, the first hours after head trauma are integral to preventing death or permanent complications.

Nex' mother took them to a medical facility where they were looked over and discharged, with another appt scheduled the next day. Unfortunately, the following day Nex collapsed and died.

Their mother is seeking full action against the school district, and the police dept says all charges are on the table since it was a hate-fueled murder of a minor.

Unfortunately the mom accidentally let out Nex' birth name when filling out obituary paperwork, so a lot of outlets are deadnaming them and using incorrect pronouns. But the headstone is planned to have Nex in place of their birth name.
