Just saw a take that Sam & Frodo MUST be gay and that we as a society aren’t letting them be gay because of the society.

May I posit that we as a society also do not allow male friends to unconditionally have one another’s backs because we, as a society, have somehow made it a solely feminine (or not straight masculine) trait to truly love and support someone without expecting a romantic/sexual relationship in return.
