   How I see bridging between social networks like BlueSky and Mastodon:

   Me and my friends are sitting at a table at McDonalds, chatting, eating our Big Mac and nuggets, when suddenly a bunch of people seat themselves at our table without even asking if the seats are available, unpacking their Burger King food, talking loudly about how Burger King has these cool new toys and when we try to participate in their conversation they simply full on ignore us, as if we don't exist.

     @alex @jwildeboer This is not a good analogy. "sitting at your table" should be "on your instance".
     
     How about: you and your friends go to a fancy restaurant but opt not to choose the private dining room. Now you're mad that other people are also in the restaurant and you can overhear their conversations.
