@Dan_Hulson@troubledturtle@charlie_root Dan, gaming on Linux is becoming more and more easier and reliable than even a couple of years ago thanks to Valve and Proton. I can play Arma 3 now, despite nobody being able to play before a few years ago due to Bohemia's in-house anti-cheat Battle Eye and Linux not cooperating.
There's only one Windows non-gaming software right now I use often that's a pain to get working, but you have that kind of software problems in Windows itself too. The benefits of switching far outweigh the costs now, innit.
@SuperSnekFriend@charlie_root I "upgraded" to Windows 11 from 10 and it is dogshit and slow also it forced an update on me and got stuck in a boot loop and it somehow killed my ssd
Yeah old computers with their floppy discs and baud 56k modem doing it's quirky noises will never not be a fun nostalgia for us nerds on the interwebs...
When I was a kiddo I watched my Dad reinstall *I think Windows 98 with 25 floppy discs, still fun tho, good times. Also my Dad is here, good guy, please follow him, maybe he'll post something someday, (he's a lurker). cc @urbancamper_55
@charlie_root@Dan_Hulson@SuperSnekFriend Thanks son. It was Windows 3.1 with the multiple 3.5 floppy disk install. After Windows 95 it was always CD. I think Windows 7 was the last one that you could actually own a full version disk. I have an old laptop with Windows 7. It's not bad, it's usable. I stuck with Windows XP for so long after it was obsolete. I stil have my Windows XP Professional full version pirated disks.XP was a sturdy and useful tool for many years. Thanks for the shout out! 🙂
@charlie_root@urbancamper_55@Dan_Hulson >It's kind of bonkers how the british are bonkers good with music. It's one of God's rewards for spreading Christianity.
Prog is the peakest form of popular music and is purely an Anglo creation innit.
It's kind of bonkers how the british are bonkers good with music. Your music education over there must be top notch. I only got bits and pieces through the American system. I super lucked out with middle school keyboard and drum classes in Arizona. Their school lunches were ass, but if you wanted to pick up an insrument they were on deck.
@charlie_root@urbancamper_55@SuperSnekFriend There was a Scottish bloke who used make music with old tech it is peak Kino he did this Radiohead cover it really kick in around 1 minute in
