“Now is the time for victory, total victory over Hamas. All discussions of the day after Hamas will be had the day after Hamas.” said Avi Hyman, the spokesperson for the Israeli government.
I'll keep saying it again and again. There is no "total victory over Hamas", especially when the Israeli government and its chauvinistic lackeys view all Palestinians as accomplices to Hamas and therefore as unredeemable criminals to "Israeli sovereignty".
By saying things like that, they are indirectly implying subjugation of Palestinian people or driving all Palestinians away from Israeli land - which is also Palestinian land - or in the worst case scenario - the complete annihilation of Palestinian populace.
This should raise serious concerns. Because the hammer is already in Israeli hands. And as the saying goes, with hammer in hand all you see is nails.
Not to even mention the slaughter of Palestinian civilians we are now witnessing, the destruction of their homeland and the trauma citizens of Palestine have experienced will just bolster Hamas as the only meaningful resistance against Israeli occupiers. Because what are hurt people supposed to do? Let go of the grudge Israel has created by murdering their families and bombing their homes? Not happening.
