If there is one thing that I learned from TV is that you can survive a fall from any height so long as someone catches you at the bottom.

@freemo In related TV physics, you can swing from a rope and be stopped by a vertical wall and not go splat, even if the vertical descent during the swing was huge.

@freemo And I think TV gun tactics were taught to Hollywood with the intention of making thugs who emulate that stuff less effective.

@mike805 Ha! Now that is a conspiracy theory I can subscribe to :)

Ina ll reality that probably isnt the case, but it would seem like it with some of the absurdity when it comes to gun handling I've seen.

The one handed side-cocked shot is completely ineffective in any real scenario.

@freemo And then there is pointing it up at the ceiling when clearing a house, and poking the barrel around the corner ahead of you. Both of which advantage the other guy.

And the ever popular gunpoint conversation with the gun inches from the other person's head. There are a bunch of martial arts videos on Youtube showing people getting disarmed in a fraction of a second when they do that.

@mike805 Yea its all really silly once you know the proper fire arm handling.

Around a corner your supposed to tuck in your fire arm, clear the corner, then extend your arm once the entrance is cleared.

@freemo That is actually a myth. I have played a lot of Minecraft recently and the actual rule is that if you fall into water you won’t be hurt at all, no matter how shallow the water.

If you are working at high heights, it is best to keep a bucket of water on you in case you fall.
