There is no asterisk or caveats to that.
It is misgendering plain and simple.
The people using it may not intend misgndering... but they are still misgendering.

@wonderfox in that case its probably fine because its medical for one and you're not using it to describe someone else.
@Rasp@raru.re I often CW my posts about periods, uterus and the related reproductive system as "afab physiology". what term should I use, then? it's a genuine question
@wonderfox I'd still probably change it to something like "period discussion" or "menstruation discussion" just to wipe any implication of gender identity out of it cause it doesn't need to be there. But when talking about reproductive health its acceptable.
