Definitely using Flatpaks for text editors one will use for development is not a good idea. There are too many 3rd party tools one needs and at that point it's better to just create a distrobox and install everything there :akko_thonk: but what do I know I'm tarded

@Kerosene flatpak supports that though.

@Kerosene flatpak allows you to grant persistent file permissions. you can even edit them with flatseal if the packager goofed it or you just want it to be looser (good for losslesscut which is only allows like one folder by default)
so you can open up ~/.catblob/* to store scripts.
there's also some ability to define extension points which exist inside the bubblewrap. that was added for things like ardour, which relies on plugins for audio effects, so different flatpaks can bridge together if they are defined as plugins.

@icedquinn wtf how? Also I'm using one of those new fangled "immutable distros" (Opensuse Aeon) so I have absolutely no clue how any of that interoperates :akko_wtf2:

@Kerosene oddly flathub used to have some audio plugins that demonstrated this concept. i have no idea why but they hid/remove that category.
but the functionality to for extensions is absolutely there in multiple ways.
