   What the person in this video is saying is a hard truth that a whole lot of people of •very• different political stripes all need to hear. Something that all of us in positions of privilege need to hear.

     @tuban_muzuru Yeah. And I mean…I’m really fine with people having an Agenda if that agenda is working for peace and justice and human decency. The thing is, a lot of people apologizing for various atrocities think that’s exactly what they’re doing, and it just boggles my mind. I hope I can learn to let go as you have.

     2/2 Southern Lebanon, a landscape I know pretty well, is run by Hizb'allah, yet another branch of the Empire of Iran. It's a ripe old piece of codswallop to overlook Iran's backing of Hamas - but I stopped worrying about such things long ago.

     For anyone who takes sides in these wars is a fool. I pay such people no mind, they've all got an effing Agenda.

     Left unsaid: after "The West" got rid of Saddam Hussein and established the groundwork for indigenous governments, by and for the people - helping to establish an Islamic Republic (read the first sentence of the Iraqi Constitution), Iran promptly abetted yet another iteration of the Sunni / Shiite War, going back to the dawn of Islam.

     Iran has been playing at empire building, everywhere a few Shiites might be found.

     @tuban_muzuru “Watch their hands, watch what they do” is a powerful thought, and happens to be very closely relation to the Carolyn Forché poem about hands that gave this account its handle. Powerful, difficult, gut-punch poetry. Part I of her collection _The Country Between Us_, if you’re up for that sort of thing.

     Policemen say "Hands Hurt". Pay no attention to what they're saying - watch their hands, watch what they do.

     All these Islamists want to tell us it's so great - we in the West had John Locke to tell us the combination of religion and politics led to massacres.

     Nobody hates a Muslim more than a Shiite hates a Sunni - and vice versa.
