fu (fu@libranet.de)'s status on Wednesday, 14-Feb-2024 08:13:44 JST fu @nsarwark I think most people have a pretty consistent view of peace, no war, not fighting, etc. Justice, however, is far from universal, and it often contains bits of revenge.
A libertarian view of justice usually corresponds with a libertarian view of restitution, but the larger the libertarian movement gets the more disagreement we'll have there. Even among libertarians we get some "fairness" views of justice. I'm thinking of the various views regarding student loan forgiveness, as an example. I know I thinkg it would be justice for the banks and other lending institutions to just lose the money they loaned. But others say that's unjust to shareholders, and some say its just for taxypaers to pay the banks off, while others say in it unjust for money collected from poor working class people shouldn't be used to pay off upper class people's student loans.
