   As a result of the wars unleashed by the U.S. after September 11, 2001, 38,000,000 civilians were displaced.
   This is the second highest result in world history. Only World War II resulted in more refugees.
   Direct military aggressions, the so-called "war on terror" which led to the creation of ISIS, and economic strangulation have all led to disastrous consequences for the people of a number of states in the Middle East and North Africa, forcing ordinary people to flee their homes, cities, villages and states to other countries.
   
   According to a report  #^https://t.co/MLXyekTZTQ by the Watson Institute for International Studies (an interdisciplinary research center at Brown University, Rhode Island, USA) and with the assistance of Boston University:
   
   1. #Afghanistan - 5.9 million refugees
   2. #Pakistan - 3.7 million refugees
   3. #Yemen - 4.6 million refugees
   4. #Somalia - 4.3 million refugees
   5. #Philippines - 1.8 million refugees
   6. #Libya - 1.2 million refugees
   7. #Syria - 7.1 million refugees
   
   The report is based on data from 2001 to 2020 + some data collected in 2021.
   It is based on the UN data, U.S. documents and information from public sources.
   
   However, the report itself states that 38,000,000 is a very conservative estimate and in reality, the figure can reach from 49,000,000 to 60,000,000, which actually reaches the figures of World War II.

   To these processes can be added the huge number of refugees from #Ukraine after the U.S.-backed coup d'état and civil war that broke out there.

     @Frans Super I tend to agree, it created more terror, more terrorists, close to forty million displaced civilians, according to the above post, more tyranny in the west, including in the United States and one may assume that the entire, alleged war on terror was staged, for those very reasons, perhaps even more.

     @Frans Super I stand corrected, one hundred, eight, plus, million displaced souls, as opposed to my miscalculated, ignorance, of forty plus, million. That is indeed, much suffering and a great deal of people, who can legitimately blame the US and her allies for their fate.
     
     Indeed, if one believes in a god, who avenges the week, the persecuted, the meek and the humble, then one can expect payback, of biblical proportions.

     Since 2001, the number of refugees worldwide increased to ~65 million in ~2015 and over 108 million in 2023, according to 'Vluchtelingenwerk Nederland'.

     Imagine that: 108 million people, fleeing hatred, violence, famine and war, drought, suppression, oppression, landgrab, etc. etc.

     We in Western Europe, can be next on the list.

     @Frans Super indeed, it's a tenuous balance which holds a man between the frontiers of pessimism, optimism, faith in god and no faith at all. Although, I don't believe that you're a committed atheist, just quite yet, if truly at all. Do you wish to know why I think so? I'll tell you. There isn't a true atheist at all, who would spell the word god, with a capitalized G, unless he had the reverence and respect. I for one, believe that the lord will forgive me, my most purposeful, indiscretion, for not doing the same.

     @techriot I wish there would be a God of some sort who would avenge the underdog. But sadly, as an atheist I fear for the total demise of the human race within decades. Yes, I am a pessimist.

     I love you for this, but my respect is for all those who still believe in God and whose freedom to do so, I would want to protect always. I don't have to agree with someone else religiously, politically or culturally, but I will always defend his religious, political and cultural freedom.

     I am an atheist.

     @weberc2 ☕️ oh no, pure as the driven snow they were. We're too exceptional to see the truth or recognize it. It's everybody else's fault, never ours.  Wake up man, I would have thought seeing the deep state operatives in action dealing with a former president would have clued one in to all the things that one has overlooked before. However, you'll never see, will you?  All that's left for the likes of you, are your feelings and emotions. No thought, no reason, just pride avarice and arrogance. Your mind is set, you're already lost and so you must lean on your own misunderstanding and hopefully for you, that will be enough.

     @techriot @kuchinster “wars unleashed by the US” what a joke. As though the US wars forced Syrian, Russian, Libyan, Iranian, etc despots to murder and displace tens of millions. 🙄
