   God I hate that people act like Apple just invented VR. The same people freaking out in excitement were acting like they were too good to use a gaming headset 6 years ago. I hate the strangehold Apple has on society and the sheeple who mindlessly consoom it.

     @alex Yeah, I agree. The only reason why I personally have this cheap Iphone was mainly due to the fact that I was blacklisted from google. And to this day I don't know how.

     What's worse is that Apple has "mindshare" over both the rich AND the poor! Especially the poor! They feel like they "need" it to socially compensate for not being financially well off.

     @mischievoustomato It's actually a cognitive bias. They are tricking people on an animal level. So you have to actually get philosophical to figure it out. Even a smart person may have to be told that they're being tricked, at least once.

     @alex to be fair they did a whole virtual desktop you can walk around with from the get go, instead of forcing people to dedicate a whole room to masturbate in front a mirror in a chat room

     @alex I'm not excited about it and I'm not buying it, but if it serves as a kick in the pants to every VR enthusiast that pretended it was ok for HMDs to have a fraction of the PPD of lowdpi monitor setups, then I will happily twist the knife.

     To be fair, VR sets are insanely expensive, and their reputation as a fragile and incompatible mess is quite scary.

     So, I am still waiting for a VR set, that I feel like won't be just a dead weight in my room 2 months from now. And, the entire market died before a single product got to that point.
