   Hi there, it’s Myroslava here with bad news.

   Today death did not come for me, and it did not come for you.

   But yesterday, on February 7, it arrived at the courtyard where I lived for 11 years.

   A missile landed in an apartment building, in the same housing complex I live in.

     We were calm, thinking that everything would go on as usual.

     There had been so many days where the air alarms simply meant explosions in the distance.

     But at 7 a.m., while I was still asleep, I heard missiles flying overhead, and I woke up to loud explosions.

     I live in the neighboring yard. But that doesn't make it any easier.

     I awoke at 6 a.m. to an air raid siren.

     As usual, my husband and I went to the hallway.

     This is the safest place in our apartment because it is protected by walls on all sides.

     Our cat lay down beside us.
