     It seems more likely that Oracle's MySQL will outlive MariaDB

     @xanderio well they are different in size and scope…
     Sometimes I need a hammer and sometimes I need a diesel rammer.

     Remember that MariaDB is the successor of MySQL. It's written by the same person. MySQL is dead.

     And don't forget if you need a much smaller hammer there's always SQLite.
