     @envelopeme As for things outside of slackware all software lists what else it needs. Either you just build it or make you're own slackbuild ( or find it on slackbuilds.org)

     @envelopeme For slackbuilds.org technicality you should have a full install but you don't really need xfce,kde or emacs.

     @dcc i know this has been asked a million times elsewhere. but how do you install/remove dependencies? say when installing nginx

     @envelopeme Slackbuild's from slackbuild.org either have depedinces also available on slackbuild.org or if none are listed are on a base slackware system

     @dcc ok. so only the packages installed by the inbuilt package manager lack automatic dep resolution, but not slackbuild? if i install nginx from slackbuilds, it'll automatically install pcre2 and other required deps? i'll try it

     @dcc hmm. got it. it's weird and as manual as it can get. fortunately i'm not planning on installing a lot of or big packages
