Their arguments are so stupid:

“How can you deny people their democratic rights to vote for me?” Because you tried to deny the democratic result last time.

“He’s the presumptive Republican nominee! How can you bar someone from office when they’re so popular?” This is why the law exists. If it doesn’t apply to candidates who might win their election then there would have been no reason to write it.
