   I dont see any advantage for using mDNS / avahi
   Since a decade, everything in my networks will be resolved over DNS and the advertised Hostname through DHCP

     @Jain I've used mDNS before, but typically I either use the ip address directly or add it to /etc/hosts and use that hostname
