     @PurpleStephyr yes, but then signal is like third priority after messenger and WhatsApp for these people...

     ultimately it's because of network effects

     they still gotta chat with their family and friends

     @terraboops ya, I don't really get why people insist on using Facebook... Like everyone knows how bad it is for your privacy, but nobody seems to care? My partner somehow managed to convince their friends group to move to using Signal, so I guess there's hope for some

     @terraboops ya, I deleted my Facebook account like 10 years ago. Not that deleting it actually does anything, I've been getting password reset e-mails from them recently...

     @PurpleStephyr i recently had to start using Facebook because people locally use it for everything and i was missing stuff... but i have found myself much more enraged already within like 2 weeks of using it
