   I used to think this song was about life being boring. A lack of creativity and interest. But now I think the "little boxes" should not be taken literally. It's about people, not houses. People put themselves into boxes. They follow leaders, and repeat the same tropes over and over again. Just whatever is popular. And at the end, I come full circle to the same conclusion.
