     Unfortunately, the easy "solution" to problems most often doesn't work.
     
     I'm amazed how many people don't even understand that pedophilia is an *attraction* to prepubescent children and nothing else - a kind of wrongthink.
     
     Before you start with your accusations, I don't have any attraction to prepubescent children, so I am not a pedophile by definition.
     
     
     Research and criminology has revealed that most sickos that harm children aren't in fact pedophiles - the criminal acts are typically (but not always) opportunistic.
     
     Other research has reveled that many sicko pizza viewers aren't pedophiles and view such illegal material for reasons unknown.
     
     Even if a proprietary brain scanner was developed that could detect wrongthink like pedophilia and allow for precrime jailing, that would really only lead to a small reduction in harm to children - but governments seem to be fixated on achieving such or similar schemes (like ((((AI)))) pattern matching models) , rather than actually trying to effectively trying to solve the world's problems.
