Putin is surely guilty of numerous heinous crimes. But I'm going to let you in on a little secret:

Vladimir Putin did not singlehandedly mastermind settler colonialism, create the trans-atlantic slave trade, enshrine chattel slavery in the economy of a new settler colonial power, use the KKK to crush Reconstruction, standardize Jim Crow laws to codify said crushing, assassinate civil rights movement leaders, invent further discriminatory practices like red-lining, cement those neighborhoods' existence as homes of the permanent underclass, lead a modern imperial power into using mass incarceration as white supremacy's new favorite tool to maintain white rule, create a new ethnostate over and on top of an existing country and encourage European Jewish folks to settle and rule said ethnostate, and spend years funding an ongoing genocide of the people that already lived there but weren't the right ethnicity or religion.

The way Dem politicians and their supporters claim that every criticism of their imperial rule comes from Russia boggles the mind. Unless Putin himself did all of those things personally, I think some of you need to seriously consider that most of these problems being complained about were caused by Western countries and almost all of them are direct consequences of the actions of the United States.

Russia is not innocent and Putin is no angel. But deflecting every criticism of the brutal and violent machine of destruction that is the US imperial project does nothing but protect white supremacist imperial rule AKA racial capitalism.

Every time you see someone do this when there's a legitimate complaint, please remind the person of this litany of crimes. It's so tiresome to keep seeing, from the blue maga freaks online all the way up to the likes of Nancy Pelosi and the Biden admin.

It's lazy and cannot hold up to even the most basic pushback. So please push back.
