   I was surprised to see the #ICJ rule in favor of South Africa's claim, and not surprised to see that they chose the weakest of the (anyway unenforceable) measures available to them. Excellent job by the South African team!

     @Matt_Noyes they said that Israel must immediately stop killing and injuring Palestinians and inflicting conditions that bring about their destruction. That seems pretty strong.

     @Matt_Noyes I get it. I've seen a lot of takes minimizing the decision because it doesn't include the word "ceasefire".

     It's also enforceable in that all people on the planet, in Israel and elsewhere, now have an obligation to end the acts of genocide in Gaza.

     It's our highest obligation (jus cogens) under international law. There are literally no other considerations.
