being under CGNAT is actually pretty good sometimes because it makes you immune to IP-based attacks, you share your IP with like a dozen other people and you can just reboot the router to get a new IP

  @chjara NAT is equivalent to SPI firewall, so CGNAT = SPI firewall on the ISP's side; this is how i have ipv6 working equally to ipv4 (cannot open port even though is ip6 native)
  it's good cause any attack would be dealt with on the isp's powerful infrastructure and wont clog up your weak little pipe and box (maybe even cost u money if ur metered)

  @chjara hmmmm i wonder... if on a conventional cable isp with a data limit and like 100mbps download... what's to stop someone from just flooding udp or whatever packets to ur router at like 100mbps non-stop... could use up ur 1tb limit in just 24 hours and cause you overage charges...
  cause you have no control of what gets sent to u. u can only block with a firewall, but if the firewall is _after_ the metered connection... ?
  isnt this why all vps providers give u unlimited ingress?

  @chjara like xfinity (and cox) gives 1.25gb per month and the overage charge is $10 per 50gb up to a max of $100. so just sending no more than 1.75tb will penalize them $100, and will take up to 39 hours on 100mbps. or 13 hours if they have 300mbps plan. also of course would make their internet slow
