j0 (just migrated from LLL)honestly i think fediverse is the most successful open source communications software in recent times. matrix is basically falling apart and fedi has like three mature, compatible but divergent server implementations. thats kind of the best thing for a federated protocol. matrix has stayed with one awful bloated server and its done nothing but repeatedly harm the protocol.
