This seems…just really silly and a waste of time.
I mean, sure, learning cursive is fun and all, but, I think we’ve all moved on. At some point, there’s no point teaching (and testing and failing) kids on cursive handwriting *in addition to* print handwriting. We’re handwriting less and less anyway, so…why do this?
There seems to be some kind of pseudo-nostalgia about the love of cursive. As the article admits, proven benefits of cursive are unclear. The unpopularity of cursive across the board speaks to me that it’s just not that important to learn any more.
