So with Nightshade now available to poison the AI image generators, I did a few little tests to try and figure out what settings work best. Some are much more effective than others.

Test #3 – strong poison
Max intensity, minimum time. Really noticeable effects with these settings. This has a rougher effect on the AI but probably aren't great for your artwork. Reserve this for when you know someone's stealing your stuff and you want to make their algorithms sick.

Test #2 – weak poison
Minimum intensity, minimum time. There are barely any visible changes, but this also has the weakest effect on AI algorithms, so I can't really recommend it.

Test #1 – default settings
Intensity set to default (medium) and render time set to the lowest. The app says this takes about 30 minutes, but it really depends on how powerful your computer is. A gaming rig would handle this much better.
The defaults are probably good enough for most people.

I mostly post photographs and handwritten poems, so that's what I tested it with. Here are the original, unaltered test pics (both from my Instagram feed).
Nightshade has two settings – Intensity and Render Quality. Quality means a longer render time and Intensity is fairly self-explanatory.
