   @mattly I have a strong love a heavily customised tiling WM set up, but easily my favourite ‘out of the box’ Linux experience if I had to use one as a daily driver is Pop OS. Especially coming from Mac, I would either go with that or good old reliable Ubuntu

     @mattly it seems like you probably need to worry more about your window manager than your distro.

     I avoid Ubuntu prime these days but most spinoffs of it are good. Pop looks decent.

     I like Cinnamon on Linux Mint but I have less affinity for old Mac style windows.
