     @kaia @newt They claim up and down that it's "healthier" to be circumcised (less chances of uti's), but really it is aesthetics at this point. And it's such a weird thing to consider when you think about it - someone just had a baby, and the first thought they have is "We'll just get rid of the foreskin, I want his dick looking good for whoever he fucks". I believe every 2/3 men born in America get circumcised it's ridiculous.
     
     I will now get off my soapbox about male genital mutilation being normalized in America :sadcat:

     @thegreatape @kaia @newt the cleanliness thing is also a myth because it's extremely easy to just like, y'know, pull it back when you're in the wash? should be a thing parents teach their kids but apparently they're too dumb for even that

     The fact that one of the main contributors to Wikipedia on the topic has been a known mutilation fetishist and the track record of the procedure is horrendous globally (does more harm than it purports to prevent) but obscured by people like him… the soapbox needs to be taller.

     People who perform this surgery without actual medical reasons are evil. I hope I never meet them.
