Blocking RDP by default, even when it is enabled in Windows is a fucking antisocial default, antivirus software.
If I didn't want to use RDP, I wouldn't have turned it on in the first place.

@freemin7 I'm testing 12 antivirus suites for a client, so I kind of signed up for this, but yes, it is appalling, thank you for your condolences.
@HauntedOwlbear I am sorry you had this experience.
@freemin7 The thing is, RDP is disabled by default in Windows 10 and 11, so it's arguably unnecessary.
I presume the thinking is "what is an inexperienced user has already enabled RDP, which could leave them vulnerable", but it should at least inform the user that it's doing this.
There is a rather nice whitelist-access-by-IP feature built into this blocking tool, so it's not all bad, as the alternative is creating Windows Firewall rules with an interface that feels like it was dropped in straight from Server 2003.
@HauntedOwlbear
It is sad that this is a reasonable choice for overall security and happyness but yeah that sucks bad.
@freemin7 Oh, sorry, I'm not arguing - I didn't mean to give that impression.
I'm kind of formulating my assessment of the software I'm testing by posting through it. I'll @ you out of the rest.
Which is possibly a bit weird, but eh, if I'm going to be social media while working.… :blob_owo:
FWIW, this conversation has been helpful for this!
@HauntedOwlbear
I am not saying you are wrong. You are entitled to feel angry. Thanks for the additional context.
