     Aah nah, the name seems to come from σοφία (sofia, wisdom), but well same spelling lol.

     Also reminds me, Саня exists as well, always forget it's a diminutive of Александр(а). Glad I'm not handwriting things because my a and o are tend to be awfully close.

     @lanodan Interesting, in Czechia a common diminutive of “Alexandr/-a” is “Saša” (Саша), but I have never heard “Saňa” (Саня)…

     @ledoian Oh, right Саша is from it as well and similarly I'm not sure how.
     Meanwhile Alex and Sandra are the kinds that makes sense to me. Also made me wonder for a male version of Sandra, and Sanders it is lol although that seems very American to me.

     @lanodan @solidsanek @ledoian which is "typo" of Санёк (in quotes because ppl often replace ё with е when typing since in 99% cases it's obvious from context) which is diminutive or whatever form of саня
