@ChallengeApathy If Mastodon or the Fediverse at large blows up in popularity, I'm worried a little that it will become an issue, as creating bots for Mastodon is very easy (as it is a very open platform) but is much less accessible with Twitter. However we have much better moderation here, so spammers might not find it worth it as we can block more efficiently and even block whole servers.
I don't know 🤞

Jacob - Challenging Apathy (challengeapathy@infosec.exchange)'s status on Wednesday, 17-Jan-2024 01:21:57 JST Jacob - Challenging Apathy I wanna know why X can't fight the bot spam but Mastodon manages to avoid it without a problem.
I could tweet the most idiotic nonsense on X and get a bunch of bots (usually porn bots) liking it every time, but on Mastodon, I actually get proper, organic responses to my posts.
I get that Mastodon (and the Fediverse as a whole) is comparatively tiny when looking at X, but still, the Fediverse is definitely quite busy regardless of that, yet we don't seem to see that issue here. 🤷♂️
