A commenter on @MLNow wrote about SF's response to homelessness: "We offer shelter – and if they choose to reject the offer, they no longer have the right to block the sidewalks”. This is a common misconception!

If that were true, SF wouldn't be getting sued. The Breed administration is fighting the lawsuit *specifically* for the right to hassle people and take their stuff *without* a specific offer of shelter (of any quality)...
