   on mac you literally press space to view an image in your file explorer. on windows you right click, select open, you can use the arrow keys to move around but if you decide you want to copy the image or something and close the photo viewer youre gonna have to find whatever it was that you were looking at again because it will not be highlighted in the file explorer

     also on mac when you're done looking at an image in quick view (or even a text file, html file, or video for that matter) you can press space again to dismiss it

     @zero true I forgor that but I wrote right click because im bothered that I have to do it when I'm uploading an image and I need to see what it looks like before sending it

     @khan If you enable the preview pane you can look at images without having to open them at all:
