I think the Substack discourse is good and that we should really be asking "why are Nazis okay but sex isn't" for nearly everything involving our society.

Hmmm. Because the USA's religious roots come from the Puritans, opposed to "worldly pleasures" and obsessed with keeping everyone "pure" by erecting religious laws and forcing others to abide by them? Thus, opposition to sex and support for fascisim. This also fuels oppression of women and those they considered "impure" (nonwhites, adherents of other religions, people from other cultures).
Sometimes I think the bad parts of American culture are due to fear of strangers.

Why is violence ok but sex isn't?
Ans: if you didn't turn everyone against their own sexuality, nobody would be diffusely angry enough to kill strangers. And then who would fight in the wars?
Any society that didn't rape everything on two legs as young as possible got exterminated by one that did centuries ago.
