Pauline von Hellermann (pvonhellermannn@mastodon.green)'s status on Thursday, 11-Jan-2024 21:23:58 JST Pauline von Hellermann I am watching both full of gratitude that Institutions like the #ICJ exist, full of admiration for #SouthAfrica, but also full of fear, a lot of fear, that the case will not lead to any change in Gaza but to diminishing the power of the ICJ etc and the overall crisis of multilateralism. Adam Jacobs 🇺🇦 (statsguy@mas.to)'s status on Thursday, 11-Jan-2024 22:00:11 JST Adam Jacobs 🇺🇦 @pvonhellermannn @fkamiah17 @latelesley My thoughts exactly.
And indeed even if the verdict goes against Israel, it's hard to see what it would change on the ground. Surely Israel will just ignore the ruling, and without the US on board, I can't see how the ICJ could possibly enforce it.
