     One is only safe once back inside the compound.

     Then you erase the memory. But thrive on the dissonance, how awful they were, how much they wanted to destroy you. Cults thrive on hate. It's why isolating you and separating you from family is the number one rule.

     Then you get love bombed by your "chosen community" Reinforcing the brainwashing.

     Same eyes in cult documentaries.

     I escaped #TheChildrenOfGod at 17. We were the same. Glazed, shallow eyes, too happy, too brainwashed to connect any dots.

     It's some kind of dissociation. I used to call it "eyes and teeth" in my mind. There is no humanity, if in attack mode, you repeat yourself and laugh.
