Democrats often act as if all legislation should require bipartisan supermajority support while Republicans are happy to enact laws by executive fiat, and these functionality represent different versions of white supremacy, especially the rule of a wealthy white elite.
Democrats would just prefer the veneer of democratic legitimacy while Republicans dispense with such niceties as besides the point, especially toward those of us they think should simply bend knee and suffer.

Democrats are well aware that bipartisan and supermajority requirements like the filibuster, in this country, with these parties, promote the exclusive interests of a racist white majority, and they're fine with that regardless of their rhetoric of representing "all Americans."

Democrats are not interested in being a partisan organization pursuing the exclusive interests of their actual voters, especially Black and queer people, because they don't support those interests and don't want to be seen supporting those interests -- except as necessary for social acceptance -- by other white people.
Democrats just want to be seen as benevolent by claiming to represent "everyone" whereas the GOP doesn't care. They understand the only thing that matters is power.

So we go through this charade where Democrats talk out of both sides of their mouths, telling us how progressive they are or could be -- if only they had the votes, alas! -- while assuring wealthy and shitty white people nothing will significantly change. And we go along because these people are still preferable to an open, theocratic dictatorship, mainly because Democrats know they lose out in that situation, too.
But the rightward and white-ward tilt of our politics never changes.

It's become especially galling as the country becomes more diverse and liberal overall, but the center of our politics remains firmly with bigoted and wealthy white people.
In fact, our elites have doubled down in response to these changes, a reactionary backlash against the real democratic majority, which they have sought to limit and manipulate in every way, exploiting media consolidation and the inherently anti-democratic features of the system.

Democrats insist on a coherent and binding set of constitutional law, which doesn't exist, it's all made up, when presidents have not infrequently used power in borderline to blatantly unconstitutional and illegitimate ways -- and been historically applauded for it.
Their reluctance is less legalism than about who stands to benefit from unilateral action, as they routinely let Republicans get away with murder. If it was rules they cared about, Trump would be in prison right now.

@gwynnion the push to electoralism is related to this: operate within the system (which is built to ensure the status quo is maintained) rather than taking direct action (for which we will always justify the most brutal reprisals.)
