The hill I will die on re: Jan 6th is that we should stop referring to it as an assault "on the Capitol" (a building) and call it an attack on Congress (the legislative branch of the US government composed of duly elected officials who were in danger of being killed/kidnapped for political ends).

Chris Espinosa (cdespinosa@mastodon.social)'s status on Friday, 02-Feb-2024 16:20:28 JST Chris Espinosa @jkottke The Judicial branch is going to determine whether the Executive branch orchestrated an attack on the Legislative branch to prevent it from performing a Constitutional duty and if that ain’t a lesson in American government I don’t know what is.
What boggles me is the vast number of House members who are siding with their party rather than with their branch. I’d have thought that preserving Congressional power would matter to members. Apparently it doesn’t.
