   i have kind of a hard time believing that the absolutely repulsive state of american politics is because of some kind of "terrible media landscape" considering the most evil president in living memory was from the 80s and won almost unanimously, especially given he was primarily known for being an actor before becoming president

     maybe it makes people feel better to believe The Media is to blame for radicalizing people to the right but people have always been fucking atrociously bigoted. we're not "more divided than ever." we fought a fucking civil war over slavery. are you stupid.
