    Wow. Did you know this? There exist *power over fiber* components that can provide 3v 180mA from 1.5W of 800nm infrared light coming through a standard multimode optical fiber.

      Then I read the document. Did you catch this? That it is a power converter from light to energy at 50% 25c reference? 45% at 85c?

      Lets take your standard home roof? thats 139 kilowatts per hour. 695 kilowatts for the standard 2000sqft house. per day, the average house uses? 936 per month. thats a surplus of 20203kWh per home per month.

      This will change everything when its scaled up.

      Standard Constants used.

      2000sqft house = 3000sqft roof = 278 m2
      1000w/m2 = .500w/m2 at 50%
      Average consumption = 936kWh for residential home in usa.
      standard day solar insolation = 5hr

      the rest is easy math.
