   damn dreamhost gives you quite a bit for a decent price. website, ssl certs, domain, email, easy installation of wordpress, unix shell/ssh, log file access, cgi, sftp, etc. seems like a nice way for less technical people to get into their own internet thing with their own domain:

     now i'm on one of dreamhost's vps things, it's fine. there's cheaper sketchier ones and cooler more expensive ones

     @pho4cexa @m455 I guess I'm paying a little more ($100/yr) but I'm happy to pay for someone else to apply security updates, rotate logs, and navigate the headache of staying off mail blocklists
