I used to use that word in journal entries. But I think I used it before Barry Obama always used it. When I speak aloud, I use "you guys" a lot, despite if it's mixed gender. -

"Folks" is only really used by trans-maoists these days to refer to their clients.

When I use it and when I think of the term, I think of it as something far different than what it is being used for today.
I'm also upset because I have always used it in my everyday speaking, due to grandparents using the word.
