That musical number before the fireworks was absolutely appalling. Angry and disrespectful IMO. The stuff projected on the bridge is just as bad.

Whites are implicitly evil. Everything aboriginals want should be given to them. And it's appropriate to take up the mantle of 'warrior' to fight 'oppressors', thereby justifying violent action.
It doesn't celebrate Aboriginal culture, it weaponises it. Not exactly appropriate for an end of year celebration.

On a red yellow an black background. Only abo's on the list. All the fireworks were red and yellow

In an effort to make their voices heard.
Problem is there nothing more insulting than pandering to a group and saying their concerns are valid, whilst simultaneously ignoring them. And secondly, focusing on those themes is necessarily divisive, no matter how well intentioned.

My issue is that "inclusion" excludes everyone else.
Even if they had the Abo flag behind Archie Roach and Aunty Whoever but also memorialized whoever white, brown, yellow or green with something other behind that would have been ok to me.
But to exclude the John and Sally, Mohammed and Saadia, Qian and Wei and Rakesh or Arya and whoever else died is horribly fucking racist.
