When you're on a psych hold legit or not, and in some states cannot decline by stating you are NOT a threat to yourself or others, but the evaluation process is forced, as in the law Gavin signed in October. All posessions are taken from you, and you are given paper clothing. Seriously, in this case, this person has nothing. No phone, no shoes, no clothes, no wallet/purse, and the evaluation completes and they are going to discharge them.

Also my situation is we are 2000+ miles away not enough time to get there, and the nearer by family does not have the mental faculties or ability to drove the 10 hours round trip. Friends also cannot help.
One solution we are doing is this.

We hired a private car/limo from the home town of the person. They are picking up a packed bag with clothes, phone, wallet/purse, then leaving for the pickup location. Ask for a female or male or driver, whatever the patient would be most comfortable with.
They pick the patient up, and take them home, can stop whenever they need to, was cheaper for us than flying, and saolved the clothing/phone/ID problem.
Sick part was, driver company says they do this all the time.

I'm going to share this messed up piece of information that you may find invaluable if ever you are in this situation. And Lord, may you never be in this situation, and as it stands right now, we are not fully cleared of this situation.
The situation is: Someone you know has done something that caused them to be put on a psych hold, and they get taken 5 hours or so from their home to the closest psych institution for evaluation.
