     @kevinriggle there is a lot of margin between paying a correct salary (like what Mastodon does) and a 300/400/500k$ annual package like some engineers at big tech corps. @GossiTheDog

     Mastodon only has about 4 paid staff members, who are paid about 5 times less than their commercial competitors.

     My take is good things come to those who wait.

     @Ciantic unfortunately the work on this is stalled due to protocol issues, but I would like the dev that worked on it to write down the issues so we can figure out a plan to solve them and ship it somewhere in 2024. No promises, but will try

     @GossiTheDog I'm waiting for "groups" mentioned in the roadmap also.

     Potentially it could connect communities between servers like shared local timeline, but not sure how it will still function.
