     @ins0mniak @waltercool Well, in this case, the German diplomats laughed when he said that they ought to pursue energy independence instead of relying on importing gas from Russia. Not only did Germany double-down on this, but they also shut down their nuclear power plants. Germany has been stubbornly short-sighted on energy and their delegation laughed at the obvious criticism (regardless of who made that criticism) and see the top post for the consequences.

     if they happen to be atoms of hydrogen and carbon then you need transport and sellers, and if the pipeline youre using gets blown up and the cheap seller gets sanctioned, its an issue. germany has been relying on cheap long term contracts for natural gas and now that they have to pay spot price theyre having issues.

     energy prices rising != people freezing, it means people will have less money to spend elsewhere, and companies will be less competitive. germany isnt 3rd world hosed but it has serious issues.
