     110 !?! i heard the low voltage was the reason electric kettles are not common in US kitchens, but 110 sounds tragic.

     (all of australia is 240 volt standard. and we still lose less people to electrocution than to guns)

     The only thing I hate is, because our voltage is 110 and not 220, it doesn't heat up quite as fast as a British kettle, but it's still a wonderful thing to have in the kitchen.
