  I loves percussion, drums etc. While I never truly got gud at a real instrument (yet, I had piano lessons as a kid but that was the extent of it) I've always deeply appreciated all the talented people that just make magic with those instruments.

  @charlie_root @p I can play several including guitar, bass, drums, piano.. even sax. music was my life as a child still is now that im old. lot of different types of metal but stuff like that and as i lay dying and others were big for me in mid to late 2000s

  Truthfully, it's not that impressive. The progression is fairly straight forward as is the drumbeat. The drummer plays soft too, as do the guitstists, so they're not expending a lot of energy. The PA is making up the gain lost by soft playing, though with a kit, you'll never get a deep sound without hitting the skins hard af (and I say this as a person who has played daily for over 40 years, and owns a very large sonor designer series kit). This includes the kicks. He's losing a lot of natural body the kit can produce and leaving it to the sound guys to make it up in the eq.
  
  The speed of the playing is just an illusion. Let me play my snare at the same rate as a straight eighth note pattern commonly played on a hi hat... omfg .. that beat is so fast.
  
  Chris Coleman is a great example of a hard hitter. He may be a nigger, but he plays hard, and you can hear it.

  I like horror movies, but mostly cheesy 80s slashers. I don't really like gore for the sake of gore either. I do like horror outside of the cheesy slasher popcorn flicks but those are my favorite.
  
  The whole goth americana/southern gothic music scene of the past decade sort of lives on top of the backdrop of this creepy animated short called "The Backwater Gospel." This short sort of set the tone for a long time.

  A lot of the music was really interesting (what I mean is it scared me lol) during the same time period, about a decade ago. The genre has more recently been inundated heavily with a mix of fake Appalachian witchcraft (I'm not saying there aren't medicine grannys in Appalachia, I am saying the people making the music are phony) and politics.
  
  Of the genre my favorite has always been Sons of Perdition, the fellow who runs this "band" (it's really just one guy who brings in guests) said that he wasn't trying to be blasphemous, he was trying to scare people toward Jesus, and of the whole genre no one's music has darker themes. He once set a Jim Jones sermon to music and put it on his album.
