I can assure you the Nazis lost the 2nd World War; but I can't really tell you FASCISM lost that war - since after all, we subsumed the fascist machine and rebranded it as American patriotism and national security to "stop communism" literally immediately after the war ended.

Here's a fun one about Allen Dulles and it doesn't even have shit to do with the Kennedy assassination:
Dulles, one of the key architects of American Cold War policy, spent the back third of World War II actively thwarting the efforts of Allied Nazi hunters, and breaking fascists out of prison; there's a pretty serious pile of evidence that the FDR admin was using him as a fly trap and planned to arrest his ass for treason after the war.
Then FDR died and Truman put him in charge of the CIA.

Like dawg, I can show you congressional hearings where famous US politicians are looking right into the camera and saying "so wait the CIA helped the Contras sell cocaine in Los Angeles which was then turned into crack?"
Yet as recently as 2015 I'm reading stories in the Wall Street Journal saying "yeah Gary Webb made all that shit up and the CIA says it never happened so fuck you..."
You have no idea how effective this machine is at making you forget.

Same country that pretends that the Union military victory in the Civil War ended slavery (it didn't, just rebranded it as mass incarceration), and then collectively shits its pants when the descendants of people supposedly liberated in that war ask why we have so many monuments celebrating the Confederacy, its antecedents and apologists. US Civil War was basically a very heated board room meeting (with peasant armies).
Reconstruction is the democracy people think we got out of the War; reconciliation is the white supremacist counter revolution we actually got.

@eob Among many other things, yes. Dulles was up to his face in Sunrise, Paperclip, the Gehlen Org and breaking fascists out of Greek Prisons to do anti-communism/ensure Cold War allies in that country.
